When I joined the Katie Kime team last June, this trip to Jackson, Wyoming, had already been set in motion. Katie and Lela Rose had met by happenstance the prior year and a lovely friendship and business partnership organically blossomed. As I delved deep into my new role, the impending trip to celebrate the collaboration between the two founders snuck up on me and I found myself reaching out to friends for their best recommendations at the eleventh hour. EAT
Breakfast at Persephone (opens in new tab)is a must. Their two locations, both downtown and in Wilson, make it easy to get to whether staying in town or closer to the parks. Less easy is choosing between the pastries and the omelet. For lunch, treat yourself to a ride up Bridger Gondola (opens in new tab) for a delicious bite at Piste Mountain Bistro (opens in new tab) and an even more delicious view. For dinner, Snake River Grill (opens in new tab)is a Jackson Hole mainstay and the pasta at Glorietta’s (opens in new tab) may be the best outside of New York and Italy.
STAY
The cabins at Rustic Inn Creekside Resort (opens in new tab) are wildly cute and within walking distance of everything downtown. The Cloudveil (opens in new tab) hotel is also conveniently situated and well appointed. For easy access to the parks, we love the cabins at The Fireside Resort (opens in new tab) in Wilson. Further afield, Amangani (opens in new tab)is splurge-worthy.
PLAY
My friend Wendi Ferreira is Jackson Hole’s unofficial spokesperson and gave me the best afternoon itinerary: Rent a bike from Dornan’s (opens in new tab) and ride under the Tetons to Jenny Lake (opens in new tab). Once there, you can lock up your bike and take the ferry across where hiking abounds. When you return to Dornan’s, treat yourself to pizza and an icy cold beverage. Once the sun goes down, don’t miss dancing at Million Dollar Cowboy Bar (opens in new tab) where saddles replace your typical bar stools.
