The best Texas gifts are the ones that get used. Not a souvenir that lives in a drawer, but something on the bar cart, in the carry-on, or folded at the foot of the bed. Our hand-illustrated city toiles put the landmarks Texans actually love onto pajamas, trays, ice buckets, tea towels and phone cases. Here is what we would give, city by city.
Decorating instead of gifting? Our guide to Texas wallpaper walks through each print room by room. Everything below is also in one place in Gifts for the Love of Texas.
Texas Gifts by City
Dallas
Big Tex and the State Fair, AT&T Stadium, Highland Park Village, big Texas hair, Miron Crosby cowboy boots and Reunion Tower on the skyline. That is the Dallas Toile, and a Dallas host will spot every one. The Dallas Toile Lucite Tray (from $58) is the one we would bring to dinner. For someone who just moved to Dallas, or away from it, the Dallas Toile Sleep Shirt ($118) is the softer choice. More in the Dallas Toile collection.
Austin
Live music, Barton Springs, and the keep-it-weird spirit of the town we call home. The Austin Toile Pajama Pants Set ($138) is the one to sleep in. The Austin Toile Lucite Tray (from $58) makes a natural housewarming gift, and a Longhorn will want the University of Texas Austin Tower Gallery Print (from $40). See the Austin Toile collection.
Fort Worth
Where the West begins. The Fort Worth Toile has the Stockyards, the Trinity River, the Fort Worth Opera and plenty of country Western spirit. Give it to someone who hosts: the Fort Worth Toile Ice Bucket ($118) holds three quarts and has a double-insulated wall, so it earns its spot on the bar cart. The rest is in the Fort Worth Toile collection.
Marfa
Vast landscapes, wild cacti, starry skies and the land art of West Texas. The Marfa Toile Ice Bucket ($118) and the Marfa Toile Pajama Pants Set ($138) are the classics. For the friend who is always packing, the Accessory Bag Set in Marfa Toile ($198) is three vegan leather bags in petite, classic and oversized sizes. Browse the Marfa Toile collection.
Houston
Space City, from Allen Parkway to Westheimer Road, with the Astrodome and a few NASA nods. A Houston host will get good use out of the Houston Toile Lucite Tray (from $58). More in the Houston Toile collection.
San Antonio
The River Walk, Fiesta, the Alamo, the rodeo and the Pearl, with palm trees along the way. The San Antonio Toile Ice Bucket ($118) brings all of it to the bar cart. See the San Antonio Toile collection.
All of Texas
For the friend who claims the whole state and will not pick one city. The Texas Toile Tea Towel Set ($58) is two cotton twill towels, and it suits a kitchen in any zip code.
Texas Gifts by Price
Gallery prints such as the Dallas Boots Gallery Print start at $40. Lucite trays, tea towel sets and phone cases start at $58, Kindle Paperwhite cases are $68, and ice buckets and sleep shirts are $118. Most pajama sets are $128 to $138. For a bigger moment, there is the Marfa accessory bag set ($198) or The Natalie Dress Texas Rose Edition ($188).
Texas Gifts by Occasion
Housewarming
A lucite tray and a tea towel set in the same city print. It looks planned, because it was.
Bridal Showers and Bachelorettes
Matching city toile pajama sets with a monogram on the pocket. They photograph well on the getting-ready morning and get worn long after.
Graduation and College
The UT Tower print for a Longhorn, or a city toile phone case for the student heading somewhere new.
Moving Away from Texas
A sleep shirt or pajama set in their hometown toile. Every night is a small trip home.
Make It Personal
Most of our pajamas, trays, ice buckets and coasters can carry a monogram. Choose the print first, then the monogram style on the product page. Personalized pieces are made to order and are final sale, so order early for the holidays.
