Behind the Design: Wicked: For Good x Katie Kime

by Katie Kime
There are some collaborations that feel obvious, and then there are those that surprise you in the best way. Our Wicked: For Good x Katie Kime: capsule collection began as the latter. When Universal and the team behind Wicked: For Good first approached us with the idea of creating a capsule collection for the world of Wicked, designing merchandise for a blockbuster film didn’t seem like the most natural fit. But once they shared their concept of a custom toile, imagined through the lens of this fantasy world of color, creatures, and characters, the more it became a story we couldn’t resist telling in our own way.
At Katie Kime, we’ve always believed that prints can hold stories—that they can capture a place, a moment, a feeling—and Wicked is a story that has resonated deeply for decades. Its themes of individuality, transformation, and enduring friendship feel like a natural extension of our own brand values. Two strong women—different, even opposites in many ways—who find understanding and ultimately change one another for the better. That tension, and the bond that emerges, reminds me of my own lifelong friendships that have shaped me in ways both subtle and profound.
The result is an exclusive collection that brings the world of Wicked: For Good into our own print-forward sleepwear, apparel, and home pieces designed to let fans carry a story they love into everyday life. It’s both humbling and exciting to create for a global fanbase that cares so deeply about these characters and what they represent.
My hope is that when people slip into a pair ofWicked: For Good x Katie Kime pajamas, style an embroidered shirt from the collection, or bring one of these decor pieces into their home, they feel not only closer to the world of Wicked: For Good, but also closer to their own story of growth, individuality, and connection.
In the end, that’s what ties our two worlds together: a shared belief in the power of expression, the magic of friendship, and the beauty of transformation.
