I’m already trying to figure out how I can get back to Yellowstone as soon as possible – this place is really just heaven on earth. After our road trip through Montana we crossed over into Wyoming where we “glamped” at Yellowstone under canvas; a place I had my eye on for over a year. It was even more magical than I imagined and had everything you would need and more {including a cozy restaurant on-site full of taxidermy, good food, and festive drinks like huckleberry mules}.
Some highlights/tips if you’re in the area include:
– Stay as long as you can. We only had 2 nights and it was not enough
– Flyfish! We did this with a guide through under canvas and it was the winner of the best day
– Jump off the “Gallatin green bridge” and be prepared to shiver for a while afterward
– Skip old faithful {if you’re short on time} and do the grand prismatic springs hike. You’ll get a view that none of the other tourists are getting
– Explore on foot. Many people you’ll see are just driving around, getting out of the car, snapping pics and continuing on their way. But there is a lot tucked back in those woods, and this every trail link has a great list to get you started
Bon voyage!
