Flowers for My Girlfriends

This new year I’ve had the women in my life on my mind more than usual. I think it’s because the older you get the clearer the real friendships become. Life and geographical location, sometimes trials, other times career paths have a way of separating true friends from social acquaintances. I’ve never been more grateful for those in my life that fall in the former. This Valentine’s day I decided I would extend the celebration of love beyond my husband and kids and send arrangements to some of my Austin girlfriends with handwritten notes. Of course, my friend and co-owner of The Little Posey, Bonni Taylor, was my go-to to make it happen. Check out the arrangements we chose and garner some inspiration. Even with your own store-bought blooms, a little love can go a long way.
Flower Selections fit for a Valentine
My favorite flowers are ones with full beautiful leaves, like hydrangea or peonies. Sometimes an all-white flower bunch can make a statement, but here we chose bold colors for our bouquet. Pinks, peaches, and green are a Valentine’s dream.
Bonni brought some gorgeous garden roses, hyacinth, posey, and fern.
Paper and Prints
After we expertly put the bunches together, I used some leftover wrapping paper I had to wrap the flowers and tied it with some black & white ribbon. You can use any paper really it just needs to be about 12″x16″.
Having a laugh
The best part of doing a shoot like this is having a few laughs with my friends and maybe learning a thing or two.
Our Valentine Bouquet Reveal
I can’t wait to deliver these to my other girlfriends. They are such a big part of my life and these are the perfect little something to tell them just that.
