One of the benefits of my birthday being essentially on Valentine’s Day is that I get to have a love-themed birthday every year. Who doesn’t appreciate an excuse to go over the top with florals, pink, and all things love. I teamed up with Kara from A Kalio Chic Life to create my Love Themed Birthday.
A GRAND ENTRANCE
BALLOONS THAT DON’T QUIT
I teamed up with Kara Whitten of Kailo Chic to create this amazing balloon entrance to draw the guests into the party. If you are going to have balloons at a party there is only one way to do it in my opinion. Go big and bold or why bother.
POSIES, ROSES, & PEONIES
Bonnie from Posey Floral always gets me. Pinks in all shades, greens, navy, and whites are present and accounted for. On the window, she created sweeping florals from Israeli Ruscus, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus, and Tea Roses. And then small arrangements were sprinkled throughout the kitchen.
At the bar, Kara made these beautiful floral ice cubes that you can read about how to make here.
GOLD CALLIGRAPHY & LUCITE
HAND LETTERED LOVE THEMED SIGNS
My love of gold and lucite come together to add additional layers. Kara paired up with Jen Krause to create these fun love themed signs with sayings and menu items. Well done calligraphy can elevate any celebration and doesn’t have to be saved for a wedding. If you are looking for some more inspiration check out our article our favorite calligraphy artists.
PETIT FOURS AND MACAROONS
DESERTS TOO BEAUTIFUL TO EAT
And this is where the whole 30 diet came to a screeching halt. But it was so worth it and it was my birthday. Those macaroons y’all. I love all of the layers and heights created with the cake platters, flowers, and lucite sign.
